Wake Up With Justin Verlander's 10 Strikeouts On Opening Day
There he is — the guy that should’ve won the 2016 Cy Young award. And when he didn’t, his wife to be, supermodel Kate Upton, posed the question on Twitter, “Hey MLB, I thought I was the only person allowed to fuck Justin Verlander?” Everybody deserves a ride or die like that. That’s how Verlander’s unconventional offseason began, and it continued with trade rumors that had linked him to the Dodgers. Of course, Verlander ended up staying in Detroit and made his ninth Opening Day start for the Tigers yesterday, punching out 10 White Sox, his highest strikeout total on an Opening Day in his career. This is a great sign for Tigers fans, given that Verlander has been somewhat of a slow starter the last few years. This was also the sixth straight Opening Day victory for the Tigers.
